Brief About The Project:

February 2012: a soccer match between Cairo’s AlAhly and PortSaid’s Masry-Club turned into a bloody massacre as 74 fans were murdered with PortSaid’s stadium put into lockdown. With no entity held guilty, authorities shut down the stadium for over 6 years, attempting to end the dialogue that has shaken the soccer institution. As a “white-elephant”, a negative urban icon constantly reminding fans of their loss, this project redesigns the stadium by reconciling with its memory, creating a stadium that dialogues with its past within the present for the future as the city becomes its audience.
