Brief About The Project:
Throughout my thesis, I analyse the city of Gyumri through rubble, starting from the soviet memory of the city through destruction, to the formation of rubble to the current state of the city and its people. My thesis aims at exposing the rubble neglected in the city by understanding its potential. It amplifies rubble as a catalyst to the revival of the city by banishing the stillness caused by trauma. My thesis question is: how can architecture insert itself in destruction and from it produce a positive rupture in the city?
